Ash Wednesday is March 5, and begins the season of Lent. In Scripture, ashes are a sign of our mortality—“for dust you are and to dust you will return”—and of penitence—“repent in dust and ashes.” Many Christians begin their observance of the 40 days of Lenten repentance with the imposition of ashes upon their foreheads. In a brief gathering here at Faith Community (15-20 minutes), we invite each who desires it, to receive the imposition of ashes marked on their forehead in the sign of the cross. We begin promptly at 7:30 in the MORNING, in the sanctuary. All ages are welcome. If you need transportation, please contact an elder who can help arrange a ride.
